The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN in Spanish) has learned through the European Food Alert Network (RASFF), of an alert notification sent by the health authorities of the Netherlands, regarding the presence of peanuts and Unlabeled cashews in Jumbo brand salt-free trail mix.

The National Agricultural Council (CNA in Spanish) affirms that the update to commercial and sanitary regulations NOM-187, for wheat and corn derivatives, implies a double labeling for products regulated by NOM-51 with nutritional warning stamps, according to the industry.

Around the World – EU: Regulation Banning Titanium Dioxide (E171) as a food additive in the European Union published

This Regulation comes to prohibit the use in the EU of the food additive titanium dioxide (E171) in food, establishing a transitional period so that, until August 7, food produced in accordance with the applicable standards before February 7 from 2022 may continue to be marketed. After that date, they may remain on the market until their minimum duration or expiration date.
