The European Commission plans to present by the end of 2023 a “sustainable labeling” system that will cover the nutritional, climate, environmental and social aspects of food products. The objective of this initiative, which is part of the ‘From Farm to Fork’ strategy, is to “empower” consumers so that they can make informed and sustainable decisions about the food they buy.

The Union of Small Farmers and Ranchers (UPA in Spanish) has proposed to the Ministry of Consumption to promote a differentiation in labeling for food produced on family farms and livestock.

Chile has implemented numerous successful food and nutrition initiatives since the early 20th century, aiming to address malnutrition in all its forms. Aim: To summarize the major nutrition and food-related policies, strategies, and programs implemented in Chile, using the NOURISHING Framework.
