Chile – Conadecus warns of energy drinks’ non-compliance with labeling law

The National Corporation of Consumers and Users (Conadecus) accused energy drinks of infringing the Food Labeling Law and warned of a worrying consumption of these and also of isotonic drinks among minors for whom they are not recommended.

The organization presented the study “Drinks for athletes: Perception and consumption habits in the population between 14 and 30 years of age in the Metropolitan Region and advertising analysis”, carried out together with the consulting firm Arista Social and financed by the National Consumer Service, which evaluated compliance with food labeling, according to the Food Sanitary Regulation, and the advertising strategy in the brands most mentioned by adolescents and young people: Red Bull, Monster, Score, Mr. Big, Powerade and Gatorade.
