Brazil – CP 1114/2022 – Regularization form for the different categories of food and packaging, and the respective documentation to be submitted

The Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency (ANVISA en Portuguese) published CP 1114/2022, which establishes the form of regularization of the different categories of food and packaging, and the respective documentation to be submitted.

Annex I defines the categories of food and packaging with mandatory registration at Anvisa.
Annex II defines the categories of food and packaging with mandatory notification to Anvisa.
Annex III defines the categories of food and packaging with mandatory notification of the start of manufacture or importation to the health authority of the State, Federal District or Municipality.

Brazil – CP 1113/2022 Regularization of food and packaging under the jurisdiction of the National Health Surveillance System (SNVS) for supply in the national territory

The Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency (ANVISA in Portuguese) published CP 1113/2022 public consultation proposal for Resolution of the Board of Directors that provides for the regulation of food and packaging under the competence of the National Health Surveillance System (SNVS) for supply in the national territory.

This Resolution provides for the regulation of food and competent packaging of the National Health Surveillance System (SNVS) for supply in the national territory.
The regularization includes the procedures for:
I – registration, changes subsequent to registration, revalidation of registration and cancellation of registration;
II – notification, change of notification, maintenance of notification and cancellation of notification; and
III – notice of commencement of manufacture or importation, change of notice and cancellation of notice.

Peru – Draft regulations for the fortification of rice

The purpose of the draft regulation is to establish the regulatory regulatory provisions of Law No. 31348, Law that proposes the enrichment of rice in Peru, which apply to national or foreign natural or legal persons (millers, importers, providers of social food programs, among others), involved in the rice production and consumption chain, within the framework of their competences.

Brazil – Amendment to the Technical Regulation on identity and quality requirements to be met by cream cheese

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply/Secretariat of Agricultural Defense (MAPA in Portuguese) published ORDINANCE SDA No. 653 that modifies Normative Instruction No. 71, of July 24, 2020, approving the Technical Regulation that establishes the identity and quality requirements to be met by cream cheese.

Normative Instruction No. 71, of July 24, 2020, comes into force with the following changes:

XXVI – vinegar;

XXVII – dulce de leche;

XXVIII – condensed milk; and

XXIX – whey.
