Brazil – ANVISA performs regulatory impact analysis on food and packaging

The National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA in Portuguese) approved a Regulatory Impact Analysis report dealing with new procedures for the regulation of food and packaging. The decision was announced during the 16th Ordinary Meeting of the Agency’s Collegiate Board of Directors, within the scope of processes 25351.490309/2009-41 and 25351.490309/2009-41.
The overall objective of this update is to increase the effectiveness of the food and packaging regulation methods used by Anvisa and to ensure a more proportional treatment”.
