This Resolution authorizes (RDC Nº 588) the use of food additives and technology adjuvants in several food categories.
The authorization for the use of the steviol glycosides food additive, INS 960, provided for in subcategories 14.1 and 14.2.1 of Annex I of RDC Resolution No. 239, of 2018, in the role of sweetener, enters into force as Annex I of this Resolution.

The National Institute of Viticulture issued Resolution 26/2021 by which it establishes conditions for the labeling of wines.
The labels used in fractioned vitivinicultural products must be registered with the NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF VITIVINICULTURA (INV in Spanish) prior to their circulation.
Labels printed prior to this standard that do not meet the conditions established in this resolution, may only be used with prior authorization from this Agency, within the terms that it determines.

The new Decree No. 43291-S establishes the procedure for simplified sanitary registration by notification, sanitary registration, registration acknowledgments, raw materials, control and surveillance of processed foods and low-risk cosmetics.
It is excluded in its scope of application:

This standard is not mandatory and only covers the commercial part (Name, denomination or company name and fiscal address, including postal code, city or state of the manufacturer or person responsible for manufacturing, etc.).
This Mexican Standard establishes the terms, specifications and requirements for the use of electronic labeling as a complementary method and/or for the correction of inaccuracies of commercial information of the physical labeling for products in general, subject to the field of application of a Mexican Official Standard that establishes requirements of commercial information, of national manufacture or of foreign origin that are marketed in the national territory.
This Mexican Standard does not apply to the textile, clothing and footwear sectors.
