The Secretariat of Sanitary Quality and the Secretariat of Bioeconomy have published Joint Resolution 8/2024, which incorporates article 1264 quater to the Argentine Food Code, which will designate as Pakistan Pink Rock Salt exclusively, the one extracted in the Salt Range Formation in Pakistan. Likewise, the mention of some other country in which the extraction of this rock salt has recognition of origin will be allowed. The pink rock salt must be washed and dried to ensure the absence of physical, chemical and biological contaminants prior to milling and processing.
