The Ministry of Health announced that as of August 5, 2024, in accordance with Resolution COMIECO 483-2023, the Central American Technical Regulation RTCA 67.01.31:20 Processed foods. Procedure for the granting, renewal and modification of the sanitary registration. The provisions of this procedure shall apply:

• To pre-packaged processed and semi-processed foods marketed in the States Parties, which are offered as such to the consumer.
• It does not apply to unprocessed foods, raw materials, and food additives.
• Excludes ready-to-eat processed foods that are packaged at the time the product is ordered, requested or purchased by the final consumer.
